BLOG | APRIL, 2011 American Forest Foundation Site Goes Liveby Chris Last week, Newfangled launched a new site for the American Forest Foundation (affoundation.org). AFF joined with Newfangled and Bates Creative Group to create a series of sites for the Forest Foundation. The first of which was their main site. Next month, we will be launching sites for two other AFF programs, Project Learning Tree and American Tree Farm System.
The site is a large site that ties in a variety of programs, from woodland conservation to environmental education. Thanks to an extended prototyping phase and the patience of everyone involved, we were able to cover all of the small details and create a site that was large enough to cover all of the needs of the client, while still managing to be user friendly and easy to navigate. Some of the more unique portions of this site include an expansive resource section with many categories and filtering options. The site also has a full content strategy including a blog, newsletters, as well as a news and media section with videos, photos and news releases. The site is integrated with Constant Contact for newsletter mailings, and links over to ClearVantage, where users can make donations to the Forest Foundation. This marked the first site that Newfangled has launched in conjunction with Bates Creative Group, a Maryland-based design firm. We were all very impressed with their work and hope that this will be the beginning of a long-standing relationship with the agency.
