Hulu gets it.

November 20, 2007 at 10:57 AM

Just got a beta invite for Hulu, the new online TV offering with lots of partners, including NBC and FOX. I haven't been watching any TV lately, as I don't own one and I don't have time to mess with downloading.

I'd like to see them offer HD content, now that Vimeo had shown the world how great Flash HD video can look.

I signed in, clicked a show, and it started playing immediately, something that we take for granted these days. The design is simple, with lots of interesting social features. One feature that we are used to in video sharing sites but surprised me here is embed code for the show; you can even choose start and end points to embed just a clip... we'll see how it works here:

I got prawn!

Wow... it looks like it embedded the whole show! Very interesting...

This is great- really nice playback and interface, too.

On one hand I think this is great. My laptop can double as a TV since I don't have one in the house. On the other hand, I had been doing fine wasting my time on Facebook. Now I can stream the Simpson's?! D'oh!
